Crash Club Records scam - Avoid like the plague!

Just a warning to any bands offered a gig with Crash Club Records “looking to sign artists”. We have had an awful experience with this terrible “record label” and highly recommend any band to avoid them like the plague!

Crash Club Records IS NOT a record label, it is a lazy useless promoter with a disgusting attitude, who will put in absolutely no work, and won’t even attend the show. He will pay none of the bands a single penny, find no time for soundchecks, yet happily charges £5 on the door, expecting the bands to bring in an audience for his financial benefit.

They claim to be a “record label” purely to get bands excited and promote the shows themselves, but all it takes is a quick glance at the crash club records scam website, and it’s blatantly obvious they aren’t a proper label…

After Googling them, it seems tons of other bands have had exactly the same experience, so it’s worth reading this too, if you want a second opinion (and third/fouth, just read the comments!) http://www.sanguinesea.co.uk/blog/2010/12/09/Cancelled-Performance-at-The-Marquee-Sun-12th.aspx

UPDATE! After a bit more Googling, it seems that he puts on gigs regularly across the country (which explains why he never turns up!), and he uses the same poster for EVERY GIG! Brighton, London, Norwich, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Sheffield, Nottingham, Barnsley, Cardiff… It’s tempting to ring Watchdog!

Crash Club Records is not a record label, it is PURELY a money making scheme for a man sat in his bedroom! Appallingly unprofessional… We really don’t want to see other bands go through the same process as us in the future, so avoid these guys like the plague!
